Default Picking UpMy New to Me Beetle Friday

Hey everyone. This will be my first VW although Mom has a 2001.5 Passat, Sister has a 2000 New Beetle, and my New Beetle was my Niece's. It is a 98 with 85,000. The clutch was replaced right before she got it at 66,000. I am picking it up for $1500. Here is the catch, she hit a deer and busted up the hood. I found a primed hood for $150. Here is another catch, the brakes went bad and she parked it. It has been sitting for about a year. My Bro-In-Law made sure it started up for me after he put it on a charger for about a half hour. Let it run for a while, ran fine, shut her down, then came out about an hour later and she fired right back up. Here is the final catch, the car is 260 miles from my house. I need some advice on what tools to bring down to do the brakes. I will expect the worse and do rotors and pads at all 4 corners. I will also be doing an oil change before we hit the road. Do I need metric hex sockets to pull the calipers? What other specialty type tools would I need that would be out of the ordinary brake job? Any advice would be appreciated.

I did notice that aren't too many Beetle owners on here. It isn't final that I have it yet. I have to go see what I am getting into tomorrow after I make the 260 mile trip from Woodstock to Jacksonville. Some people may think it is the master cylinder or brake lines. I hope not. I plan on driving it home tomorrow night!
