Default Timing belt/water pump change

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2000 Beetle 2.0 5spd. It has about 96,000 miles on it and I know its overdue for the timing belt and Water pump service. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on it (special tools needed, etc). I have never done a timing belt on a VW, but did do my 2000 accord, and numerous 2.3L fords. Should you replace any idlers or anything else? Also any other services that should be done at this mileage.

Thanks for any and all advice.

Arnie
