cheap cat converters
Has anyone experienced a loud rumbling and pinging noise do to cheap cat converters? I am stumped with this noise , I have asked about 5 different auto shops and no one seems to know what it is for sure , it could be the cat but it is a new one so i wonder if it is cheap. The sound seems to echo through the downpipe to the cat and it is louder then my exhaust. please help robert 91 corrado

Maybe it's your car telling you that it wants a straight pipe.

Please close one of the threads...whichever you feel is less conducive to getting your answer. Sounds like you might have had something break loose inside the cat, or a baffle in the muffler.
