Default Corrado Question

OK, Im getting ready to move to Florida, and am looking at a Corrado to buy as a daily driver. I have an SVT F150 right now, and the gas mileage is not the greatest in town tooling around. Can you guys let me know about daily driver duty for this car as well as the ability to afford and perform repairs to the car is I use it as a daily driver. Thanks for all your help.

corrado and daily driver are kinda not good in the same sentence. do your research on the exact car that you're going to purchase like who's owned it, how it's been maintained ect. corrados, especially the earlier years are known for developing odd electrical problems, not neccessarily going to make the car undrivable (is that a word?) but they will be annoying. good luck with the purchase!

Avoid the g60's the chargers have short lives and they are expensive to rebuild/replace. The vr6 have their own issues. a Roddo as a DD isn't for those with little mechanical skill.

Very general...
Corrado: Parts cost twice as much as any other VW, are twice as hard to find and fall off twice as often. Corrado parts don't sell often enough, so aftermarket suppliers for replacement parts usually don't produce Corrado parts, making them dealer only.

Don't get me wrong, I love Corrados, but they do fall apart.

thanks guys, appreciate the help. I think I might go with a 240SX for a DD, and when it blows up, Frankenstein it...

I own a Corrado SLC, I love the car to death, but you do not want one as a DD. If anything, find a Mk3 GLX or GTI VR6, they're almost as fast as the Corrado and way cheaper, especially the GLX since it's 4 doors.

Once you drive one it won't take long, my GLX was a blast, not quite like the Corrado, but still tons of fun. Take one for a test drive, they make great highway cars, the 4 hour drive to Pittsburgh was always a great road trip in mine.

corrado are sweet !! very nice to drive, incredible handling. If you want to buy one you wont regret it. Its better to have good skills in mechanics but you can buy one anyway.
If you buy a G60 juste makes ure the chager is in good shape. If it hasnt beed rebuilt yet, you might want to do it. The G60 engine is a TANK !! Only the charger is a bit more special. but with good mainenance its a very reliable car...did i say maintenance ???

I love to hate my rado !! but ..its a rado

Default NO RADO

Whatever you do, do not buy a corrado, unless you plan on to spend every penny you have on it!
