Default 72 SB Drum Brakes

Good Morning,
I have a 72 super beetle with drum brakes all around. I have replaced all the shoes, springs, wheel cylinders, rubber brake lines and master cylinder. I have bled each brake line starting from the farthest in the rear and worked my way to the front drivers side with no air visible. i didnt bench bled the master cylinder, but i did remove the brake lines from the master and no air was present. My problem is the brake pedal travels to the floor with very little to no resistance. Could I have install the master cylinder incorrectly? I did hear something fall during the process, but after investigating couldnt locate any parts. I would appriciate any help this forum can give. Thanks in advance.

Did you loose the spacers in between the firewall? If you pulled out the bolts all the way, they fell down but that would not make it not have a pedal they are just for strength between the 2 thin layers of sheet metal. Is your activation rod still in place? And are your brakes adjusted out? Did you make sure the brake adjusters were all installed correctly? They are slanted and the slant points up. And last, it will take a while to get fluid coming out if you replaced everything Good Luck

Thanks derf,
I didnt realize there were spacers in between, that must have been the sound. I didnt replace the steel lines but everything else is new. I have a good flow of fluid without air bubbles from each wheel. I will try the activation rod first. Thanks for all your suggestions.
