Default 74 super beetle sunroof seal

I recently bought a 74 super beetle with a sunroof as a builder. The previous owner had taped up the sunroof because he said the sunroof seal was bad. i've never messed with that sort of thing and i am going to have to cut the build short due to my immediate need of transportation. The interior is in extremely good shape. How big of a project is it to change the sunroof seal? Will i be down very long or is it a quick easy fix? Will i have to pull down the headliner?

Welcome
The seal just glues on to the perimeter of the body, the sunroof slides up to it. But why is it bad? If it is because of water leaks, this is caused by the drains in each corner being plugged The seal doesn't really seal it from water leaks. If you open up the roof and look in each corner you will see a drain. They get filled up with "stuff" and need to be cleared out

well i dont know it is bad for sure but there are water marks on the underside of the sunroof itself. before i bought it the guy had told me that the seal was bad. my intentions were to go through it and fix anything that was wrong with it, making it a basicly a brand new car. However, my old truck i drive every day dropped a valve resulting in catastrophic falure and i was forced to slap this thing together. so from here on out it's just weekend things and i didn't want to tackle this if it was gonna be a major issue

You can look at the seals and pretty much go by condition. If the felt seal is frayed and falling apart and if the rubber one is cracked, then ok you might oughta replace. If they look fine, don't worry about it. The drains derf mentioned are probably the problem, backing up and leaking in to the car.

Default Sunroof seal glue?

What kind of glue is best to use for the sunroof seals? I have new seals I need to put in but there were no instructions or guidelines with them.
