Default classic beetle floorpans

Hi all.I'm new to the vw scene and need a little help and advice.i've been restoring classic cars for a number of years and have always wanted to do a vw beetle but could never get hold of 1 because people kept beating me to it.after 2 years of searching i've bought a 1973 1300cc beetlein really good bodily condition.someone restored it about 12 years ago but for some strange reason never put any protection on the underside of the car.due to this the car needs 2 new floorpans. What i need to know is :are the 1970 floorpans the same size and shape as the 1973and is it just the seat mounts that are different?if this is all that's different i can buy a pair for £50 from a friend and the seat mounts don't matter as i'm fitting a pair of porsche 911 seats.
thanks all,and if i don't reply for a few days it's because i work away a lot.

Welcome. The 73 up have tripod seat mounts so I believe the rear floor area is a different shape But they might work if you are modifying the seat tracks but can't be sure. I've only replaced floor pans with like floor pans
Do you have access to them to look and measure?

You can bolt an oval body to a 77 pan and a 77 body to an oval pan. Besides the seat tracks. only the rear body mounts need modification which are not on the pan.
