Hey all...glad I found this place.
Is there any good way to really push the air through the heater ducts in a 71 SB. Just hjad the engine rebuilt...works like achamp. And...I get plenty of heat wafting up fron the floor boards...but not a lot of flow from the defrosters. Thanks for any info in advance. Cheers, Tim |

You can mount an electric fan under the left side rear seat that'll push more air through the system - if you do so some of the air actually makes it to the defrosters! There also used to be a gas heater kit for the AC's that mounted under the rear seat - they were pretty nifty - but I know of at least one case where a small leak resulted in a rather dramatic fire -
For the fan you want to find a 12V industrial fan that'll mount in the middle of the hose (2" or 2.5" - cannot recall) - wire it to a switch on the dash or somewhere else so you can control when to turn it on - Also - check your ductwork to make sure paper, leaves or other "stuff" hasn't gone down from the vents into the ductwork partially blocking it - and that there's no "additional ventilation" in the wheelwell (had that on a '64) - |
