Default help! having a nightmare lowering my bug

i have just fitted a lowered beam to my 67,which already had home made drop spindles on it and i am using standard shocks. the problem is that there is no movement at the front of the car (the car jumps around like a pogo stick if i go anywhere slighlty bumpy!!). if i push down on the wing , it will not move , its solid! the car is not even that low, i have 145 70s and there is still an inch or so gap between the tyre and the wing. please help me as i am clueless.

What shocks are you using, If you did not fit shorter shocks they are almost definately bottomed out which will not allow the front to drop like it should and of course will give you the ever so bitchen solid ride . My 60 ragtop (from many years ago, (circa 1990) see pic) rode perfectly with just the adjustable beam and the correct length shocks, but would have rode even nicer if combined with the spindles.

One thing i forgot about is that if the snubbers and the pipe that holds them that is between the front trailing arms are still attached they could be your culprit.
