Question Hi all bug people I need help with fuel gauge

I have a old style gauge with a cable and trying to switch it to ele. but dont know where the wire goes off the little resister on the gauge ? one goes to the sending unit and dont know if the other one goes to hot wire or where? please help. thanks Scott

one has to be "hot" with the key. It goes to the "vibrator".Do you have the speedo head with the electric gauge?
