Default Interior Carpet 1974 Super Convert (footrest)

Hello, I am working on a 74 SB convert. I am installing the carpet and running into issues in the passenger floor board. I have been told my issues maybe because of a "foot rest" or the lack thereof. Does anyone know if the footrest was standard on the 1974 and if so, where one could be purchased. I bought the carpet from mid america and they told me they would make it right if I need to return it. (great guys) however they do not offer carpet for the 74 w/o foot rest. Any help would be appreciated. Cross

IIRC the "footrest" was a stamped steel plate that went from the (flat) floor to the "firewall" (for lack of a better term) - I assume your carpet is coming up a bit short 'cause it's not there - I'd start checking junkyards to try and find one - I cannot recall if they were specific to the 'verts or not - sorry.

I think (there I go getting dangerous again) that it was held in place by tabs that fitted into slots (perhaps just in the "firewall" or just in the floor stamping) - if that's the case you should be able to take some basic measurements and get one fabricated by a local machine shop, if you can't source a used one -
