Default Noise when starting 74 super beetle.....sometimes

I am finishing restoration on a 1974 Super Beetle Convertible so have a questions about a noise that I want to fully disclose in my sale listing. For the past 10 years or so, car makes a grinding noise sometimes when I start it. Probably once every 25 starts. When it makes the noise, I just turn it off and try again and it starts right up!

Many years ago, the shop described what this was. They said something like I am missing a tooth on some wheel and when it settles on that tooth, car makes grinding sound when I try to start. Otherwise, it settles on another tooth and starts fine.

What is this? How do I describe the issue appropriately when I list for sale?

Thanks!
