Default Subwoofer Enclosures

What's up? I am looking to construct a custom speaker box in my 73 baja bug. Any pics or ideas would be most appreciated.

had two baja's ('64 and a '67) - neither had rear seats (just a plywood platform) - both had roll cages - so if I'd wanted to build a sub-woofer box it'd have been pretty simple (I didn't - you would have never been able to hear the radio over the open headers ) however - if you've got a back seat still in place try the "hole" between the back seat and the rear window - should be pretty simple to fabricate just a "lid" that'd hold the speakers and seal it up pretty well -

I will have to agree with steve here. The hole between the rear seat and window is a perfect protected area. Large enough for a 12 or 15 !

thanks for your feedback dudes, i kinda already have a box type thing (no back seat) you described. I agree, i can't hear anything over the headers either.

yeah - the rear seat was the primary sound insulation - once it's gone you've got a nifty echo chamber - really want fun pull the headliner then try to drive with the windows up (bring ear plugs).

I mean you could put a baffle in the stinger (assuming that's what you're running) - but where's the fun in that?
