I have a weber 44idf dual carb set up with airfilters i want to install them on a 1972 super beetle will they fit without doing anything to extend he hood

You mean, I suppose, without kicking the top of the hood out away from the body? They should fit - if the filters aren't really massive. I had a pair of weber downdrafts under the deck of a bug before with no problems (well, at least no problems caused by the carbs!).

A unisyn gauge is about to become your fondest friend - by the way - duals out of sync will drive you nuts .... but when they're working as they should - pure bliss!
