Default 3rd Annual CHS Auto Show (very different this year)

Get your crap together for another high school auto show. I'd like to start by saying a VERY BIG thank you to all that showed up last year...that includes. Eric (Ammerman), Brake_Dust, oneeuro2c, Big Bad Wolf, Tim (owes me some bumpers), fetus and several vwforum people. This years show is going to be different. Since its my senior year I'd really like to make this event mean something. This years show is going to actually be a show. We plan to have a "best in show" that will be voted on by those who pay the 5 dollar entry fee to show their car. Other than that if you plan to be a spectator it will be free. Here are the details in simplest form.

Date: May 14th 2005
Time: 2PM-dusk
Where/Address: Conestoga High School Parking lot/200 Irish Road Berwyn PA 19312
Details: Spectator fee: $0 Best in show fee: $5. We're going to try to get food this year. People last year were planning on bringing their BBQ grilles and other things. Do what you want but if the police come and you get busted you pay the fine.

Important for VWFORUM! If you want to have a booth you're more than welcome to have one. The parking lot is very large. We just ask that you make a small contribution to our club. We're not saying a specific dollar amount because everybody's financial limitations are different. Actually if you decide to setup a booth and we are able to your name on our flyers that would really help the show gain exposure. We encourage you to setup a booth.

Thank you,
Andrew

last year I know those from vwforum that came were not too impressed with the racing in the lot and someone said they were ready to leave in 35 minutes. This isn't going to happen this year. The more cars that show up then people will stay longer. Not to mention my friend has 50 honda's and 30 legends and I'd like to top those numbers if possible so please come!

yea I know what you mean. I wasn't too interested last year and I set the whole thing up! But this year I'm president. For starters we've got FBIturbo.com who is going to have a booth and probably mediocre clothing. I'm trying to see if anyone else would like a booth. But what will make the show better is more people. But hey we're going to have alot of jap cars this year and it will be sad being beaten out by them but it is what it is.

I hope some people at least give this a second chance. This is my last year doing this so you will probably never have to see a post about this show again.

I think the hesitence to get excited about it stems from last years issues...especially the fact that it was mostly dumb highschool kids, acting dumb with cars they should have been driving. Granted, I was not there, but this comes directly from people who were.
Nobody really wants to be around that, albiet it does sound a little better orginized...so hopefully you guys get it turned around.

I just want to clear this up. I don't condone the parking lot racing. In fact I hate it. I think it is the most dangerous and immature thing to do at a show that doesn't have a track. Honestly I mean this....I wanted to call the cops and just tell them to come over and stop it. I really was disgusted at what some club members had done. This year I promise none of that or WE WILL CALL THE COPS. I'm not afraid to do it. I really want this show to be great and I really apologize for last year. As I said before even as organizer of that event I wanted to leave after 35 minutes. But honestly the only way to make that feeling go away is to have more cars come. So please give this another chance. Right now we have a count of like 5 VW's and 2 sponsors. Please help out!!!

I spoke to the security guard at our school and he said that there will be a car show but ONLY IF THERE IS NO RACING. The school has decided to call the cops if anything happens.
