Default DUB DASH 5 show/rallye Oct. 14-15th Dayton, OH

http://dubdojo.com/DubDash5 for more info/pre-registration

Dub Dash 5 is right around the cornor guys, so make plans to come party at the biggest little show you've never been to.

Here's the highlights/overview for the new recruits

Huge site this year with plenty of room for camping, parking, a bon-fire, bands, RC car racing, big BBQ, drinking, costume party, and more drinking......and that's just Saturday night!!!
All you can eat, drink, and make an ass of yourself on film for the fair price of a $10 minimal donation Saturday night!

The main show/rallye is Sunday....
$20 per car, passenger/co-pilot is free/donation
-Driver's meeting/registration
-Start the engines
-1st car leaves after meeting at 10AM
-Show
-Swap meet
-Raffle
-Awards
-Food available, but not free day of show

The Dub Dash is now 5 years old and we're looking to make a name for ourselves outside of the Midwest now.

The Dub Dash has always been a more local, grassroots type show, and it slowly gets bigger and better as word of mouth travels after each installment.

Location is key to anything, and Dayton, OH is the perfect area in the Midwest to host a show. We have interstates 75, 70, 35, 675, and many other major arteries that convene here from all points, so you can get here from anywhere.

The Dash has always been a gathering/party first, and a rallye/car show second...

You simply couldn't ask for a better venue and here's why....

PAVED area for the show, which is accessable to the lowest of the low cars.
GRASSY area for the campers and swap-meet vendors (Yes, there will be both this year)
BUILDING for shelter if it rains
DIRT BIKE TRACK for RC car competition
SECLUDED area
CONVIENIENTLY LOCATED off of 35 W
MUCH MORE!!!!

A garage available to anyone having car problems.....it's only one bay, so hopefully not alot of people will need to use it....
If not, maybe someone can host a tech session...

The Dub Dash has a great vibe and mix of good people. Almost every person that attends is a complete enthusiast, so you'd be hard-pressed to find a car in the show that doesn't have at least a few modifications on it.....in other words, there are NO stock cars at the Dub Dash.

The Dub Dash is open to ANY European car, regardless of year, make, or model....
This makes for a very interesting variety and show field.

In addition to the air and watercooled VW's in attendance, we've had new and old Porsches out, as well as Mini Coopers, Mercedes, Saab's, Volvo's, BMW's, and so on....

We're always changing the formula slightly to keep the things interesting, such as switching up locations, routes, and objectives on the rallye, making sure things don't get stale, as well as changing the judging and awards for the show side of things.
It's all a surprise until the day of the show.

No two years of the Dub Dash are exactly alike....in fact, far from it!

Where else can you, camp, party, make and be with friends, DRIVE and ENJOY your car with the same like-minded enthusiasts' AND get some of the best, most thoughtful awards/prizes, best event shirts, and so many good memories in one place?

We award the top 25 cars, regardless of make or model, along with some really off the wall awards, such as "Most Brake Dust", "Baldest Tires", etc., as well as best of show and best club participation.....that's right....we don't break cars up into classes like most shows. We let you park with the people you came with!

We don't care if your car is sparkling clean....our judges aren't anal about the clutter you put around your car.....they look at the whole picture....and the judges aren't just pulled randomly off the street....they are genuine CAR GUYS that know what to look for.....they know what kind of work goes into some of these cars, and look at the performance side of things, among the usual things
The last thing they care about is seeing if their hair looks good in the reflection of your paint.

Considering this and the nature of a rallye, it doesn't matter how many bugs are splattered on your front bumper and windshield.....we just hope you have an unforgettable time out on the drive.

The Dub Dash is not a race, rather it's a chance to get out and enjoy our cars and some nice Ohio roads and autumn scenery.

The sponsors are mostly local businesses, who are also enthusiasts themselves, first and foremost.

In the end, you have a whole region of people of all ages that have one thing in common.....the love of European cars and all the things that go with it....in essence, we are one huge extended family and this is like a reunion.....big-assed reunion BASH!

We are always looking for sponsors too, so if you know someone that would mesh well with the event, please let us know.

We plan on compiling all 5 years footage of the event and making low cost, high quality DVD's available after this year too.

Help make history and live it at the same time!

Also, here's the Dub Dash section of the DubDojo forums, including all four years of pictures sticky'd at the top.
*note* if not already a member, you may have to register.....sorry for the inconvienience.

We have a lot of unique things we bring to the table, including, and most importantly the roads that we have to our disposal for the drive of your life and the opportunity to explore a site on the Historic Register that most people won't ever get to see.

For those of you who remember the Peter's Cartridge Factory as a checkpoint before, you ain't seen nuthin' yet!!!

We have permission to explore and take all the pics we want INSIDE AND OUT in both buildings!

The courtyard is where we'll all pull in for the checkpoint and take pictures of the cars.....it's a wide open and scenic area and will make for some memorable shots....

Their only requirement set forth was the need of a waiver, which is no biggie.....we'll do a waiver for the event and do it all in one....

Along those lines, I'd like to stress again that this is not a race, so the promoters, sponsors, and partners will not be held responsible for any property or car damage incurred, or any tickets as a result of speeding/acting immature.....in fact, we reserve the right to remove any person as seen fit for violating any laws, starting fights, stealing or vandalizing any property, etc.....this is a peaceful event, and none of that will be tolerated.

See the pics below and link for an idea of what the place is all about....

Quote:
The Peter's Cartridge facility began operations around 1880 as a companion facility to the Kings Powder facility located on the north side of the Little Miami River, across from the site. The Peter's Cartridge produced shotgun shells and rifle and pistol cartridges. An explosion occurred and destroyed the facility in 1890, from the mishandling of railcars containing nitrate of soda and black powder. The facility was rebuilt and underwent considerable growth during World War I. Construction of the reinforced concrete buildings that currently stand at the site commenced in 1916. Shotgun pellets were made in the 220 foot tall shot tower. Mercury fulminate, a primer in cartridges and shells, was also produced in the building at the west end of the site.

Remington Arms purchased Peter's Cartridge in 1934. The production of arms continued at the facility until 1950 when the site was sold to Seagram Distillers. Seagrams used the facility as a warehouse until 1970. Between 1970 and 1979 the site was vacant and frequently vandalized. Landmark Renaissance Corporation purchased the site in 1979, refurbished some of the structures, and nominated and placed the site in the National Register of Historic Places. Landmark named the site the Kings Mill Technical Center.

We should expect 200+ cars this year easily, including YOU and your CREWE!

Check out the venue website for more info about the location.

Overview/recap:

We have a ton of surprises in store that will be unvieled throughout the weekend....

We'll have the first ever Pre-Dash Bash with live bands, kegs, Jagerbombs, and other madness on Sat nite...21+ to drink please....bring ID
Costumes optional, but encouraged!
We have shelter in case it rains, so it's a rain or shine event.

Also, remember there's a swap meet this year....should be a draw all in itself once it picks up steam....

This is an all day event, so don't expect awards to happen at 2-3 PM....

Dub Dash will be held Oct. 15TH 2006 this year and the 1st annual Dub Dash meet & greet/pre-party is the night before at the same event/camp location....

Be there or be square!

Sincerely,
--

I'm always up for a road trip but I think this falls on the same weekend as Fall Show & Go in NJ. I'll probably hit that up instead but if its not the same weekend I'll def. think about it.

Fair enough....I couldn't find anything to confirm or deny that fact, so I guess we may see you.....
I can safely say that the Dash will be just as good, if not a better time than a Dirty Jersey show.....besides, Dub Squad kids are the retards that ruined Waterfest in the first place....
