Well I have a few local friends that rented it out. We thought we had enough people, but some backed out. We now need an additional 3-4 people now to keep it at $30 per person. We expect under 12 people so you should have more than enought time to get all the runs your heart desires.
Important Info: You must wear pants. If you don't, you will not be able to run, or you will have to sport some Wal Mart pants cuz that is the only place for 45 minutes. (Yes we are in the middle of no where up there) If you trap higher than 100mph or lower than 13.99 you will need a helmet. If you don't have one, and want to come, I will loan you mine unless you have crabs on your dome. I don't (just for the record ) Times are from 4pm - 8pm The vending stands will be closed so if you want race fuel, ice bags for your manifold, etc, bring your own. We will be amongst some domestic owners. They are not the typical domestic meat heads that give a bad name to the rest. Pretty cool guys infact. As of now, there will be a stock Camaro SS LS1, Stroked Stang 5.0, Turbo Lexus SC300, Turbo Integra GSR, Camaro LT1 with some minor bolt ons (he will be a good one to embarass in front of his buddies ), a E36 M3 with some pretty extensive simple bolt ons that should be a good run for a strong chipped 1.8T (he traps around 100mph), and a few others. Post up or PM me if your interested. First 3 or 4 that are serious about it will get the spots. If you tell me you are coming though and don't, I will kick you in the jimmies next time I see you, and no I am not kidding about that. I hope to see some VWF members there so they can see how much fun the track is. It would be a good chance for anyone that has never been cuz you will be in good company, all the guys there are pretty cool and just love cars. [ July 08, 2003: Message edited by: Big Dong ] |

So I am pulling out the rear seats, carpet in the trunk, the front passenger seat, adding 100 octane maps to my APR chip, spraying down my intercooler between runs, and icing down my intake manifold the whole time I am not on the track.
What do you guys think I will run? The only thing I have done in the past is pull the spare and rear seats, ice the manifold, and all my previous runs to date were on APR 93 octane maps. My best to date trap speed is 14.5 @ 99mph at Cecil w/ a 2.4 60' time, and my best time is 14.4 @ 96mph with a 2.2 60' time. Any guesses? [ July 10, 2003: Message edited by: Big Dong ] |

Don't forget the Spare Tire and all of that junk. hey, maybe the engine cover? might keep it a .0001 degree's cooler and take about .5 lbs off? (not being sarcastic)

(not being sarcastic) jon

Oh yeah, the spare/jack/tools are always out when I go to the track, and I usually run about 20-30 miles past when the no gas light comes on and then pump in $2-3 worth of 100 octane on my APR 93 software when I get there (gas is heavy, around 8lbs per gallon, a full tank is well over 100 extra pounds). I also haven't had my engine cover or the weather stripping above the ECU on since Import Wars. I am hopin for some good times, I probably won't run again till it cools down outside this fall, and I get a new clutch and a 3" catback on it. This place is about 1 hour 15 minutes north of Harrisburg. Don't know how long it would take from Delaware. |

Well I did not beat my best time. Beaver Springs I found out after getting there is one of the slowest tracks in PA. The people there said on average to expect times to be .3 slower than Maple Grove and .4-.5 slower than Cecil. They also said to expect to trap about 3-4 mph slower than either of the other tracks. The good news is that many of the other cars there were also slow, and I managed to tie my old best time at the slower track.
My best pass was 14.42 @ 99.52mph. At Cecil County that should have been around a 14.0-14.1 @ 102mph. I did get one really good 2.10 60' time on one pass that would have sent me lower, but I ended up bumping the rev limiter in second gear and screwing up the run and made it another 14.4. That one would have bettered my time too if I would have shifted right. The coolest thing is on run in particular. It was against a 2002 Mustang GT with over $3000 in bolt on parts. We ran once. He had drag radials on and got me out of the whole, but the whole way down the track I was playing catch up and was pulling noticably. Our times on that run looked like this. Me 2.44 60' 9.65 1/8 mile @ 75.53 14.76 @ 98.1 mph Him = 02 Mustang GT 2.15 60' time 9.26 1/8th mile @ 74.58mph 14.38 1/4 mile @ 97.85 I trapped faster than he did in the 1/8 mile and the 1/4 mile. The whole time after that race I was thinking about how I would have killed him on the highway.
