He died at 3:26 p.m., they said.
The New York Fire Department received a call at 2:27 today responding to a "cardiac arrest call" in New York.
They found an unresponsive male dead at the scene.
In 2005, the actor played Ennis Del Mar in "Brokeback Mountain," about two cowboys who had a secret relationship.
The role earned him the Oscar nomination.

I can't even believe this. I liked a lot of his movies, can't say I've ever seen Brokeback tho haha. Tragic death for a rising star. Seeing The Dark Knight is gonna be kinda creepy now.
Definitely! He was a very good actor, I liked a lot of his movies. I heard on the news they found him with a bunch of sleeping pills around him and stuff.

Really is a shame
Yeah a lot of places aren't commenting on the pills part, but I read his housekeeper who found him also found pills around him. Why would he do such a thing? Maybe a simple mistake?

naw dude, it as probably suicide. hollywood messes people up.
I would probably lose my mind if there were people picketing a funeral of someone I knew, I cant even begin to think where that idea would even come from.
Another Hollywood star falls, a shame...I was looking forward to seeing him as Joker in the upcoming Batman. I think has played some really good roles, liked him in The Patriot. RIP.
I wish the Westboro Baptist Church would implode on a sunday morning...
Are you joking? I agree Brian. That's ridiculous. He starred in a MOVIE so you're going to picket his FUNERAL?! I just don't get it...what's the point?
