The song, "Pennsylvania," lyrics and music by Eddie Khoury and Ronnie Bonner, was presented to the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1989 on House Bill 200. On November 29, 1990 the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania were done a horrible injustice when Governor Robert P. Casey and the General Assembly signed that seemingly innocuous bill into law.

Since that fateful day, Pennsylvania has begun a backslide that has seen its cities ridiculed as they fall into despair. Philadelphia has been named #2 in "America's Fattest Cities" in Men's Fitness Magazine; Lancaster's chaste Amish have been filmed taking drugs and having premarital sex; and the worst, Pittsburgh, provided the background for box office disaster "The Mothman Prophecies."
