Default Jetta Wolfsburg 2.0 vs. Subaru Impreza/Legacy

Okay here's my question. I test drove a 08 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition today and found it very appealing to what I'm looking for in a vehicle. The price range was a little high for me though but I'm sure I can get them down a little. (Asked 22,000) Anyways I'm trying to convince myself to get this or a Subaru. Either a WRX (not sti) or a plain Impreza. Or even a Legacy GT. The Jetta for some reason didnt seem sporty enough for me for the price range. Don't get me wrong its a classy car with a lot of style and hp but for me being 20 I kind of want something more aggressive looking and a little more for the money. My friend test drove the new R32 as well. I did like the feel and look of it but for 32 grand that is out of my price range. Any suggestions for me? Please feel free to correct me on any errors; if I made any. Even refer me to someone else I can speak with. Im new to VW but I am starting to develop a taste for there style. Thanks for the help I appreciate it!

One more side note. I am looking for a dependable car for gas milage too. I think that close to 30 mpg highway would be a step up from the truck I have now. 01 S10 V6 4.3 L that literally inhales gas.
