Default Derby CL

Hi there!

On the 30th december 2005 I crushed my white Polo MK3, creeped out of the car, looked at the shit and thought myself "Damn!!......what next?".
I found a very cheep Derby on the internet for 250€...thats arround 375 bugs for you. I hadn´t more cash at that moment and so...I bought it!
At this time the car looked like this!

The engine didn´t say any word, the suspension chattered by roling the car, the left door looked like, that any one had cracked it and and and!
BUT, no rust and the stuff inside was in very good shape! You see, there was alot to do, let´s get rockin!!

Riped out the engine...

...rebuild the engine...

At this time I had orgnized some ATS Classic in 8x13 et0 all arroung..polished them up at my own and gave them a new paintjob. After that they looked like this.

And put them with brandnew Continental Contact (195/45R13) the first time on the Derby (with a new suspesion!)

The caps for the Classics I had made on my own but thats another story.

Then I replaced nearly all parts of the brake and ignition system with new one, put also a brand new carburator and many many other stuff on it and gave him to a specialist for old VWs for fix the engine.

Back at me I stared to repaint the hole car. But before I repaired and replaced that parts, that the holder before me had destructed. Nice work!

New fenders and many hours later...

Another "problem". Now I had a Derby front but a polo bonnet. The lights in the front were not in line with the bonnet! After weeks of searching I found a rare "Kamei grill spoiler".

There was alot to before I started so spray but that would be to many details...

After I sprayed the outside mirrors and the bumpers in beamless black, I put all together, falled on my knees and cried...after 2 years of hard work, riding my bike again, made a million of phonecalls to oraganize parts and put all my money in it...it was realy done! Great feeling!

But I didnt know that this was just one step to the finish!

Raid 2 steering wheel, Aroso rev meter (fitted in a self created sppedo screen).

Made some finish works on the clear coat...

...und fixed a Rabbit MK2 spoiler lip on it.

And here we are!

Enough for that season...in this winter I will work on it then again. Got a lot ideas!
