Default H.I.D. question

to get HID headlights on a car with projector headlights... do you simply replace the stock projector bulb with an HID bulb?

You're going to drop a few hundred bucks, not just as easy as replacing the bulb. What kind of car are we takling about?

McCulluch (i think thats how you spell it) sells great kits on eBay. I know three people that have had those kits around here locally and haven't had any problems with them. Looked damn good too.

thanks guys i'll check into it, thats sounds pricey though, i figured it wasn't as easy as replacing a bulb, but it does look like there is some sort of ballast already hooked onto the back on my projectors.... car is a 99 a4 avant.....
