Lovin it. I was expecting it to be terrible, but turned out nice. Yea the interior does look like the GTi/GLi, but I dont mind it. I am just glad they didnt go and drastically change the body shape and style of the TT. an't wait till its released.

- 1995 Mk3 GTi VR6
- Soon, possibly, a MK2 GTi Vr6
- Possibly Chad Lehr's MK2 Jetta, to bring back to life!
The new 2.0T FSI and I believe carrying over the 3.2 VR6.
And in eurpope there's talk of a 280 hp 2.0T and a 350 hp 2.5L 5 cylinder.
Am I reading this right?
Yeah but it could just be a rumor...I just heard it MIGHT happen. The 2.0T would be the S line and the 2.5L would be the RS.
That dosnt make any sense, the 2.5 is a lower model engine not offered by audi...and I dont think they would turbo it because then both models would be turbo...I think its a 2.0t and a 3.2 with rumor of a 3.6 if they can fit it.

The VR6 wasn't originally an Audi engine either but now they use it in the TT. And just because teh 2.5 is the lower model in the MK5 doesn't mean a whole lot, it's just detuned in those. If you tune it similar to the Lambo then it'll put out some serious power...
I don't necessarily disagree with you that the 3.6 is a possibility, just disagree with the reasoning.

It may not have originally been an Audi engine but it was the highest offering in the MK4...putting a 2.5 in would have been like putting a 2.0 in the MK1 TT. I dont really understand your lambo reference or what it has to do with anything, any motor can be turned to perform better than it comes.
Did you see the 2.5 turbo at SEMA it is only putting out 225 whp and thats an aftermarket system, so you can see why Im sceptical about a 2.5 in factory form putting out 350hp. Do you know where you saw this?

The Lambo reference basically meant that the 2.5 is half an a Lamborghini engine so it's not like you're taking a bottom of the line VW engine and putting it in an Audi, but taking half of a Lamborghini engine and putting it in an Audi. All depends on how you look at it. And as far as the 225 whp 2.5L, you have to also keep in mind that it's the first turbo kit to come out for the 2.5L, I'm sure those numbers will skyrocket within due time. And was that a built engine or just a turbo kit thrown on? I heard it was boosting what, 6 psi maybe? Now build the engine for high boost, get new software (that was Neuspeed, right? They are not exactly known for their software), and give it 20+ psi and I'm sure it would be a powerful engine.
I'm not too confident that this engine is ever going to made from the factory in the 350 hp form, but I think it's possible...
I googled it and found several articles about this, here is one example:
