Special Edition 2006 Audi TTs
Quote:
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Audi of America has told its U.S. dealers that it will debut special editions of the Audi TT coupe beginning in May.
The cars will commemorate the Tourist Trophy race, the model's namesake which was first held 99 years ago on the Isle of Man. Coupe versions will start at $43,539 and go on sale in May. Special-edition TT roadsters are set to go on sale in June, starting at $46,539. Destination charges are not included yet on either vehicle.
The company told its dealers in a statement that the special-edition models, which include a 3.2-liter V6 engine and DSG transmission, will serve as the final TT production vehicles for the 2006 model year.
Audi said it will feature a special engraving on the glovebox acknowledging these special-edition TTs as "1 of 99." The 3.2 special-edition coupe models will have a selection of three exterior paints — Misano Red, Ocean Blue and Light Silver — and will be paired with a unique black hardtop roof color. The special-edition roadster will exclusively feature a Quartz Gray metallic exterior, a black cloth power roof, and amber red baseball stitching in the cabin as standard.
Additional standard features on the special-edition TT models include heated front seats, HomeLink, Bose audio and an in-dash six-disc CD changer, power accessories, cruise control, three-spoke leather steering wheel, and xenon headlights. The choice of XM or Sirius Satellite Radio is optional equipment.
Audi has not yet shown its dealers photos of the vehicles.
What this means to you: Audi was aiming for a TT with a lot of history in these special-edition models. Buyers will enjoy having such an exclusive version of the roadster.
