I personally like the V50 more...mainly the extra space, and AWD.
Good article Greg!

hmmm....they are both similar. like they said, takin the Volvo in manual and using the extra money for wheels and suspension would be sweet.

on a side note:
gdogg....has anyone taken a new S40 and put R styling or tuning into it? I like how that car looks...it would look mean lowered on the 5-spoke R wheels. i dont know what it has for a motor, but the S60 R motor in there would be nuttts

It basically has the same motor as the R. Both are turbo 5cyl., however, due to space constraints in the S40/V50 they had to reduce the size of the block and head. Also, the turbo and exhaust manifold were intergrated into one unit to save space, so it's fucking gay. I fyou want to upgrade, you have to have a new manifold built, then figure out how to put iin the car! That crap hole of a company EVOLVE did a SEMA car with the S40N, looks good but I hate EVOLVE so it sucks. Now a German volvo tuner called Heico has been making some kick ass stuff for the V50, they race a S40N in the german touring class' and do all their testing on the "ring." There is a pic of the heico deisel V50 on the ring, it's hot as hell, i'll see if I can find it.

You've probably seen this retarded car by evolve.

Why dont you like Evolve? I thought the car they had in Eurotuner (i think?) was pretty hot. That one above is real nice minus those funky hood scoops. It's a different looking Volvo.

IT'S A LONG STORY! Basically, they build useless semifunctional show cars... S40T5 AWD with no rear drive shafts..... crap like that..
