Default White smoke on cold start - 2.7T

Just like the topic says, my dad's A6 2.7T blows out a decent amount of what looks like white smoke on cold starts (and no its not just water vapor). Only way i could describe it would be a dry-engine type smell. Anybody got any ideas? He is going to sell it and get the new A6 within the next month hopefully, so he doesnt want to have troubles during the sale.

Thanks.

White smoke usually equals coolant in the combustion chamber....could possibly be a faulty head gasket.
