Default The Dealership Review Thread

In here you can give a review of a dealersihp you had a good or bad experience with, so others know whether they should or shouldn't use that dealership.

North Shore VW - Beverly, MA - By far the worst dealership I've been to out of three. The service department, specifically the service manager, are terrible. One guy that works there, Avery, is a nice guy, but watch out for the rest. At least on 3 occasions I got my car back with grease on the interior and had to bring it back to get cleaned. I always have to wait a LONG time for an appointment. They blamed my blown transmission (with 25k on my car) on me. Then when I talked to the mechanic who did the actual work, he said it was definitely not my fault. Then my tranny blew again, come to find out, they didn't put enough gear oil in it. Now I am without my car for over a week because of their mess up. Then I call them and the service manager, Al, denies that it is their fault, while 2 other VW mechanics tell me it's definitely the problem.

Montesi VW, North Haven, CT - Great service, nice people, fast. No complaints whatsoever about this dealership. I do as much business as possible with them. They have never complained about my mods(MAF replaced with my intake and tranny replaced with my LW flywheel and short shifter). Gary Montesi, the owner, also donated a lot of items to the Big Ass GTG.

Lynch Imports, Daytona Beach, FL - Only been there a couple times, but never had a bad experience. Nice guys, and very easy to get an appointment.

Young VW- Easton, PA Good service, but they can be slow at times, Jason the service manager get's backed up easily. Sales staff second to none, very attentive and helpfull bunch. Ted, the new car sales manager is the man. The used car manager is alright, he has his moments. Overall: 3 1/2 stars
Gilboy VW- Whitehall, PA Great service, Robin the VW service manager knows how to treat a customer. Sales sucks! I have heard rumors (much like those of bigfoot) that a lone sales rep of high standards is employed there...but I have yet to meet this mystical creature. Every sales rep I have dealt with there was horrible. Overall: 2 stars
Faulkner VW- Allentown, PA Good sales staff, one of our own (Kofa), makes up for a lot of the dealerships down falls...like the managment. The sales manager is a total douche! The general manager, Georgia is very nice, and willing to work with most deals. Service is decent, good fast work, but the personalities of the service reps could be better. Overall: 3 stars
Millenium VW- Raritan, NJ Great sales, very helpful folks, whom are not pushy at all. Service is good, fast work, and the service manager actually speaks German. They also have a great detail shop on premise. Overall 3 12 stars

All ratings out of 5 possible stars...1 being the worst and 5 being the best

Dover VW Audi Subby Dover DE,- Bought my first VW there. They have gone out of their way to help me when i was in trouble. leaving loaner keys under the mat when my coil packs went and wouldn't be able to get there until after closing. Have always had great service with the Sales staff and Management has always been nice to me. The tech guys also would let me come in after hours if i needed help with my car and wanted to do it my self. I would reccomend these guys even though i've heard a few stories of people not being treated right by the sales people (also same guy though).

Smith VW Wilmington DE,- Bought the Jetta from there. Lets just saw the first week i saw it there they didn't have a price for it or even know it was on the lot. Went there a week later and still didn't know the price on it. They wouldn't pull my CD player from my old car and put it into the Jetta right away saying they had to program it... but they did allow me to switch the wheels to replace the stock BBS Wolfsburg wheels that where all pitted (common prob). The wouldn't let me do it at first saying that they won't fit, or because the GTI didn't come with 16" wheels from the factory and BS like that. They also took 3 hours to wash my car while i was on my lunch break when they said it would take about 1 hour and no excuses or we are sorry. I do not reccommend them.

Valley Motors VW Audi Porsche MB B-More MD,- Have only dealt when them for a few service items. Always helpful and nice. haven't dealt with there sales staff yet... but maybe in the near future i will...

Manchester VW - Manchester, NH

Bought my golf there last September. E.C., the salesman, was very nice and even took my old Jetta, which had recently been in 2 fender benders and was not fixed, in on trade. Never been there for service or anything else....I'd give them 4 stars for their sales.

Martin Grove VW - fixed my cel and my dash then explained why my cel went off. good guys!

Queensway VW - Fixed my coil packs back in 2002 and did a good job! went back for service in 2004 for my regulators and they must have fucked up something because when i rolled down and rolled up my passenger side window i heard a loud scratch and now i have 3 LONG and NOTICEABLE scratches on my window. i haven't had time to get it fixed but when i do i'll make sure to bitch.

VW Villa - Good guys, sold me the car and explained everything.

I second all of that....TOO HELPFUL is all sorts. Email the name of the guy you've heard the names about and I'll let you know what I know. Planning on buying my next VW from either of the two DE places named on BORA's comment!

First off this deserves a sticky.

Gilboy VW - I have purchased 3 VW's from them and personally I have grown a relationship with them. If you need a Salesman there please ask for David Haynes and tell them Dave Snyder sent cha. I never had a problem with him, and he will not sugar coat anything. As for there service they are outstanding. I get most of my service done there they are fast and never had a problem with quality. A+++

If you head to York VW for parts, look for a guy behind the counter named Jonathan Lutz, he's a real enthusiast and he really knows his shit. I can't even count how many times he told me how to solve different problems with my Rabbit when I would stop in to pick up parts. Very honest and very helpful

On the other hand, there used to be a lady who worked at the parts counter there (don't think she's there anymore), she was totally clueless, ordered the wrong parts for me one time, and then when I was trying to get the correct parts she just handed me the keyboard and mouse and let me find it in ETKA myself and she actually said "I really don't know what I'm doing here"
