Chaplins of Bellevue sucks. they rip you off hard corps. lie to your face, and think they arer smat and you are retarded even when you tell them stuff about VW that they dont know. unless you know Mr. Chaplin. then you get good service. i had a deal on a 2002 Audi A4 with 23,000 miles, fully loaded for like $16,500. i found my jetta though. much happier

University Audi/VW in Seattle is a great place. nice people, great service. talk to Dwane if you go there. have free doughnuts, coffee, and the such when getting service done or whatnot.

York VW Dealt with Ken Troup also can't say enough good things about them helping me out of a jamb when my first GTI's motor went the 3rd day I drove the car. It was in VW corp's hands but I ended up getting another car.

Lancaster Autohaus -nothing but horrible times there with owner and body shop manager after buying one of the first 1.8t New Beetles in York County. I would drive a 100 miles out of my way never to deal with them again!

Cumberland Valley Motors VW (CVM) - Carlise Pike, Mechanicsburg Pa - Well let me tell ya first off that I will NEVER go back to CVM again. My family has purchased multiple cars from them over the years (mostly mid 90's) when the dealership used to be good. Well now its under new management and it just plain sucks. I know more about VW's then their parts dept. Not to mention the service people treat you like shit everytime you ask them a simple question. example - "Hi I would like to find out If my coilpacks are covered under warranty / recall "...pissed off smart ass reply - how do you know its your coilpacks, ugh, VW has changed their coilpacks 4 or 5 times..ugh. Then, when I find out they're not under recall or covered under warranty I go to buy one they hand me the wrong one, and I tell them when they gave it to me it was the wrong one. I even showed them that there were no screw holes (I had the one I needed with me) and they still denied that i was right. Long story short CVM VW is crap and know nothing about VW's.

I actually stopped in there tonight to ask about the new GLI, which i saw at a dealership on Vortex, and the salesguy shrugged me off and told me that they don't get the new GLI till the end of the year and it was probably a fake that i saw. I then asked about the new R32, and I get..."Oh VW isn't making a NEW R32, that was just a one time special edition car" the salesguy then proceeded to walk away from me while i was telling him about how I just read on article detailing the R32's new release.

to CVM (Cumberland Valley Motors) /rant

Faulkner VW - Allentown, PA - My girlfriend's friend just bought a new Jetta there and had nothing good to say about the management, but she liked the salespeople.

Trend Motors, Rockaway NJ

Salesman sold me a car that was in a previous front end damage accident, he no longer works there. Went through hell and high water and several years until things were finally "right" according to VWoA specs, and it still pulls to the left.

Used car sales manager was difficult to work with, lied to me, tried to make me a fool by telling me that the reason the car was pulling to the left was the crowned roads. Jerk!

Service department has gone to either side of the fence, last experience there was positive, with some new staffing and managers it seemed to help.

They always have a cutie at the service desk cashier.

Would I buy from again? It'd have to be one hell of a good deal and they would have to kiss my a$$ as a returning customer.

I won't give top honors, but I won't throw them in the gutter either. Some people can screw up a perfectly good business. I just got to deal with a few of them.

Sendell VW--Greensburg, PA-- I have bought 2 cars from them, the second time around was alot better. The parts dept has been very helpful, but the service dept need tweaked. The service manager is very cocky...would not answer my questions about a Monsoon problem...no idea why...

I will go back to buy from them...from Derek, but service will go to Day Audi/VW in Monroeville,PA They take the time to listen to your problems and diagnose without trying to price gouge.

Pignataro VW in Everett WA. Haven't really had to deal with anyone but Parts and the Owner Tony Pignataro. The parts guys are pretty good. I deal with them about three times a week and always get what I need/want. Tony is a pretty good guy too. He's a true enthusiast. How many rich guys do you see driving around in Vanagons? The sales staff cycles through pretty fast so there's new ones all the time.

Auburn VW in Auburn, WA Once again, mainly the parts guys, who don't nessesarily have all their crap in one pile, but when a bunch of product I had shipped up got stolen from my porch they replaced it all knowing UPS would stiff them.

Chaplin's VW in Bellevue Rendered my friends mom's Jetta undrivable more than once. Even had to be towed back to the dealer because they recoded the car to match a key they had in the service department.

Butler Volkswagen in Macon, GA Drove 6 hours to look at a car that was advertised for $14,888 on edmunds.com. First of all the car was not even there. They let some guy drive it because he ordered a new vw gti and didnt hae a car. So i had to wait a few hours before talking again. After a few hours the car was still not there so we decided to talk about the price. The salesman talked to the manager and showed up a price og $16799. After we told him that the internet price was $14888 the manager comes ina nd tells us the price on the internet is already reduced from the original price. What kind of dealer puts a price on the internet and raises the price when you look at it. That was my experience with that dealer.

lindsay vw sales is good. wade was extremely helpful and made me feel welcome even though the cars i looked at werent going to net him much of a commission. the finance dept was very nice too, even though i was the last one to walk out of there after they had all had a long day.

conclusion: if you are looking at purchasing a vw in NOVA, look up lindsay vw and ask for wade. you wont be disappointed.

Vision VW- Reading, PA

Lets see, they stripped my dad's oil pan and did not tell him until we had it up at Faulkner VW and they tried to charge us for a new oil pan. They beat the piss out of customer's cars. I was out back at the body shop and a customer's Passat came peeling out of the grage being driven by a mechanic and goes tearing across the parking lot. Most the salesmen look down their noses at you but there are some good enthusiests mixed through the dealer.

Faulkner VW- Allentown, PA

We used to have a service manager that we always dealt with and he always made sure everything went well for us. But then shortly after Faulkner bought it he left. Now we haven't met a new service manager that can keep the mechanic in line. They have over filled our cars with oil, left parts in my engine bay. Lost the caps to my engine cover in my fender liner. Then had my car for like three days as I waited for a new vacumme line for my FPR and they ended up ordering the wrong part. And then realized they had the part sitting around and fixed my car in 5 minutes. And now under the new management you can't haggle with the sales man, the sales manager has to come out for that. We had great experiences when it was Lehigh Valley Volkswagen but this place is going down hill. Our next VW will still probably be there though since the one salesman sold us our last four VWs and we like him.

Default Phoenix Area

I just bought an 06 Jetta TDI from Scottsdale North. While looking I also dealt with Camelback VW. BIG difference between the two:

1. Scottsdale North did not inflate prices (Camelback was $2000 more for same car).

2. Scottsdale offered reasonable amount for my trade-in, if not great amount.

3. After talking with Camelback again to tell them I went with their competitor, the sales manager said "well that's too bad because we would have given you [$2000 more] on your trade-in!" which was of course a load of crap because it wasn't worth that much and they were bitter.

Sooooooo... you want up front and list prices go to Scottsdale North. No experience with their service yet. My first appointment is tomorrow for a squeaky seat. One of those problems where a bad dealership will say "couldn't hear a squeak" or "all fixed" only to find that it isn't as I leave the parking lot. So I will let you know.

Default So...

...As I thought. Got down there and I could not get my seat to POP. The woman was nice about it tho' and said that I can come ANY time it is happening... just come down and tell her or whoever else is there and they will look at it right away.

So at least her response was nice. Gave me a chance to drive around and also to hit a dunkin donuts on the way back.
