GTi Safety? I need some help please.

Hey guys,

Well I have a bit of a problem. I really want to get a 2006-2008 used GTi for my 17th birthday. I am 16 years old now and will be 17 in about 4 months. I live in NJ so you get your license at 17. Anyways, I am having a hard time convincing my Dad to buy a GTi. I am a safe driver and a good kid in general so I don't see why this is so hard. My Dad thinks that GTi's are small and unsafe, does anyone have some safety reviews for the years 2006 and up?

Any help you guys help would be great...

2008 Volkswagen GTI Safety and Crash Tests - MSN Autos

I had a 2008 GTI, I loved it...real responsive held the road nice, but I never crashed it..soooo...but the safety ratings good on the car...its not a convertible..good luck, hope you can get a MKV..they are awsome..I have a 09 Jetta Wolfsburg now, Im converting it to a GLI..sexy stuff..
