Default las vegas, specifically jobs and area around 89102

So my buddy is moving to las vegas and he wants me to come out there with him. i havent found anything as far as it jobs that fit my skills in las vegas under the dice website. i also have no idea what its like out there in general since i have never been. i am pretty sure we have someone on here from that area, but their screen name escapes me at this time. anyone with info on the area please step up and let me know the pros and cons. not looking to buy a house there, my buddy has housing covered. just need to know things like employment opportunities, how freaking hot it gets, cost of living etc. pretty sure its in zip code 89102, somewhere near a place called 3 angry wives pub or something.

That's a big move, good luck! Try the vortex regional section.

Into the 100's during the summer, but dry, will feel like low 90's in the humidity of the east coast. Expensive as hell for cost of living, and low-skill jobs are very hard to come by because of all the gamblers/dancers/etc... that have seen the light and have to get a job at McD's to get their life back on track. Lots of high tech jobs out there, but thats a shaky market currently. Also, lots of Gov't jobs too if you don't mind the risks of radiation. DOE has several big projects out there.
