Default New guy and gal to the VW world

Hey all, I'm posting this on behalf of my fiance and myself. She just purchased a 1999 Passat 1.8t. The only downside to it that I see is that it is an auto, but it does have that sport-shift feature which I'm looking forward to getting familiar with.

The rest of this post is just some basic info on myself and not really on-topic with any VW stuff so feel free to just skim it over. This forum seems to be pretty good so I'm hoping that I can learn some stuff about European cars and have some fun in the process

I've been around in the car world a while (more on that in a second), but she is brand new and we will probably both be using this account when we have questions.

I've been a Honda guy for years (please don't hold it against me). My folks bought me a '95 Integra my senior year of high school and I've loved cars ever since. I got into auto-x with that vehicle and I have a lot of fun with that. I also own an '87 Toyota Land Cruiser which is very much a go-anywhere vehicle, but it only gets about 12mpg on a good day so it sits mostly unless I want to have some fun with it on the 4x4 trails or if the Colorado weather prohibits me from driving my Integra.

I hope to be on and learn some stuff on here and like I said, my fiance may be on under this screen name from time to time if she has a question for you all.

Below is a picture of my Integra for anyone who is interested:

I live in Fort Collins, CO.

I will get some pictures up of the Passat as soon as we get it home. It's still at the dealership. It is officially my fiance's but a couple stipulations of the sale were that they had to remove the dealership logo sticker and re-do the rear window tint and wouldn't you know, the guy who does the tinting is backlogged. We can pick it up whenever but my fiance is adamant about not driving it until the tint is fixed since looking out the back window looks like you're looking at a fogged-up shower mirror. I'm too busy with work and EMT school right now to go pick it up myself so we'll have to wait for the tint to be done on Tuesday or Wednesday.
