Default 06 Jetta Problems

Greetings everyone,

I want to say hello and thanks for having such a fine website. I haven't explored all of its venues yet but that will all come in time.

I wanted to talk to you folks about the 06 jetta 2.5 liter and some of the problems that I have been having, and wondered how you overcame them.

I have previously owned honda's (hence the crxnfx) but I've made my move up to the world of VW.

1st problem: engine noise, or lack there of. I can not hear my 2.5 liter to save my life! I've actually found myself between 4500-5000 with the windows rolled down!

Also, I have the front/rear spoiler kit and I've noticed that the damn clips that keep the underside pieces (near the exhaust, under the license plate, and to the right) have all fallen off. All of them. I didn't hit anything and when I inspected closer, I found that the clips had actually snapped in two!

Please, if you guys have any ideas, information for the engine, I would appreciate.

And thanks again for the forum.

welcome to vwf!
If you could take some pictures of the trim and clips that have broke, I'd appreciate it. My fiancée and I will be looking at Rabbits shortly, and want to get as much info as possible.

I have heard that the 2.5 l engine is very quiet (which is usually what people want). I have not driven a 2.5l yet, but there are some people on the boards that have.

I would take the car to the dealership where you got it and have those trim pieces and clips replaced since it is such a new car and still under warranty.

I was wondering about that- with the warranty, will they charge me? I'll try to get pictures up this weekend.

Default Can't hear the engine??

Well, if you can't hear your engine at 4k with the windows rolled down then you must be deaf. Granted, the 2.5L is pretty quiet but it's not THAT quiet. I can easily hear mine and it sounds pretty damn good too
