Default 2.0t

Just got an 09 Jetta with the 2.0T TSI - that engine really runs strong ! Anyone here know of any specific maintenance issues or tips to keep it running strong ? I have a passat with 140K miles with the 1.8T and this 2.0T is much stronger (the passat is probably tired !!) Also have a Merceded C280 4-matic and use Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro oil. On the Jetta, oil changes are included for 3 years. What synthetic oil brand and viscocity is used by VW ?

VW recommmends Castrol Syntec 5W40. VW spec 502.00. (Not all dealerships use this, though. Check with your local dealer) The 2.0TSI does have a lot more power than your Passat 1.8T. Congrats on the new car!

How about the Mobil 1 0W-40 which may be better than 5W-40 for the winter here in PA ? This is the recommended Mercedes oil.

I'm sorry, I gave the incorrect VW spec for the 2.0T. VW spec is 502.00. The Mobil 1
0W-40 meets the 502.00 spec so you will be okay with that.
