Default 2005 jetta (newbody) issues

Hey everyone i just joined the forum! Well i have a 2005 jetta 2.5 (newbody) and i am haveing a few issues with it. About 4 months ago i put a trailor hitch and light harness in it. Well unfortunatly they store i went to gave me the wrong one and once i hooked it up it didnt work and also stopped my rear left hand tail/brake light go out (its a two bulb unit and the right bulb isnt working). changed the bulb checked fuses and still nothing. Well i workied on it a little more last night and came up with that it must be a relay that isnt working correctly cuz i get to much voltage to the light that does work and very little to the one that isnt working, but there is a small amount of voltage. I also pulled the dash to get to the ecm to listen to try to figure out which relay it is and i couldnt find anything. so now after buttoning everything up my airbag fault light is now on constantly in my dash. Any help or if anyone could help me locate which relay i need to check would be great. Thanks!

When you say too much voltage.. How much?
When you say too little voltage..how little?
Have you inspected the multipin connections at the light housings?

WHat do you plan on towing with a 2.5 Jetta?

11.4 volts on the left light and .54 milivolts on the right light on the houseing on the left tail light of the car. i checked the right side tail light and both lights on that housing are at 2.4 volts. I am using the car to tow a very small motorcycle trailor, the trailor and bike together weigh less than 800lbs. Thanks for any help!
