2006 Jetta - power window not working

Does anyone know where I could ibtain some step-by-step instructions to troubleshoot why my driver side rear door power window will not work? When When I press the switch to "open" the window by using the switch on the rear door itself or the switch on the driver's door console, I hear a single click from within the rear door but the glass does not move. No grinding sounds or laboring sounds. I feel that the motor may be bad, but was looking for some troubleshooting steps to follow to verify a bad motor (before buying a replacement) and that there isn't another electrical problem somewhere else.

Are you no longer under warranty? That would be covered and if you can have them look at it. Does sound like the motor though.

No, it is out of warranty due to hgh mileage.
