Default 2007 Jetta 2.5 Tranny issues...

Anyone out there having problems with the transmission shifting rough from 1st to 2nd? I bought the car brand new 6 months ago and have put 5k miles on it since. The car is an automatic and I've noticed that when I'm leaving parking lots or taking off from somewhere it feels like the transmission is going to get left behind when it shifts. I've taken it to the shop 4 times and have been told nothing is wrong and that they can't replicate the problem. I'm not sure what to do at this point, anyone have any advice? This car has also been towed in because it wouldn't start. Just seems like too much trouble for a brand new car=(

This is deifnitely not a common issue. Try not to get discouraged, these cars have proven very reliable so far. You are one of the unlucky who unfortunately. All new cars will have a couple bad ones here and there. My girlfriend has an 2006 Jetta and it's an automatic, has almost 30k on it, been 100% problem free.

Are you talking about the same feeling you get when you lift off the gas in a manual tranny car without pushing in the clutch? Like a lurching? The RPM's don't drop back to idle - they stay up and fall as the car slows down? If so, that seems to be the way these automatics are set up.

I have a 2.5 manual, and drove my bosses' TDI automatic once - and was surprised by the transmissions behavior in first gear...
