Default 2008 Oil Change

I am going to be changing the oil on my 2008 Jetta 2.5 SE for the first time. I have never seen a drop in filter, nor have I changed a car with one. I have only done a screw on filter.

Does anyone have a link or a 'how to' for changing the oil on my Jetta? I searched and couldnt find anything...

Also, the manual states 5W-30. Is this what everyone else is running? I've only used 10W-40...and what about Synthetic, I'm thinking about using it...

Thanks in advance for all the input and help!!!!!
