Default Airbag Light [Rant]

Wow, on my one week anniversary of ownership I got a little present from my Jetta Wolfsburg, it was an Airbag light. Brought it in to the dealer and they were actually told to call VW Technical service (1-800 for mechanics I guess ) to walk them through the steps of fixing that specific problem. Well they did that, and after being told to re-flash the computer it still ended up being on (Supposedly the CD that they used for the re-flash was one week old too). Then after further "trouble shooting" they decided that she needs a new Airbag module...

I had my GOLF for 3 years & one month and the only warranty repair I needed was a radio replacement b/c the CD player gave me an error message (brake light switch was still good and the original one!), while the Jetta, only with 300 miles on it, gave me an Airbag light. I really hope this gets fixed w/ the new module b/c I really like driving the Jetta .

So anyone else have the same kind of error the first few weeks that they owned their MK5 or heard of anything like this before

They have alot of issues with their airbags on their mk5s. Airbags, seats, clock springs, modules, connectors crapping out. Seeing alot of problems with the seat recognition modules inside the seats lately too, theres a reflash for that out too now, crazy stuff. But hey, you dont have to pay a dime

does this pertain to specific model years, or just across the board?
