Default Any hacks for 2010 touch screen computer?

I'm a computer geek and just bought a 2010 jetta sportwagen TDI for my wife.

I have the touch screen in the console with mp3 player etc... but not the one with GPS.

Are they the same unit with features simply disabled? Any codes out there to enable hidden features or get access to car parameters like the doors locking?

I know most US car makers who do the stupid door locking for you have hidden options in the computer to disable the annoying feature.

I love hacks!

I am sure that there is some hidden items in there, not positive if GPS hacking is a possibility though...

No GPS available on the Premium 8 touch screen. I'm not aware of any other hacks. If you have the multimedia interface, you can get input cables for mini USB, iPod and 3.5mm jack. As far as programming features, this is done via VAS5052 or Vag-Com through the instrument cluster. None of the coding is done through the sound system. Not sure what other hacks you may be looking for. Congrats on the Sportwagen and welcome to the forum! Give me a shout if you are looking for any genuine VW accessories. I'm usually 20-30% below the dealers.

Well I guess I'm looking for some pretty involved hacking.

I have seen conflicting reports. One place I read the OS was an embedded Linux and another place I read the OS was an embedded Windows CE.

But either way it should theoretically be possible to load a modified OS that allows XVid or Divx movies to be watched on the touch screen off of the SD card... etc. It should also be possible to have it read from Data CD's with movies or even custom programs or even bluetooth tether to a phone for internet access on the touch screen. The hardware is there, the OS is there... its just the matter of "has anyone done it yet" and is there going to be enough of these out there that someone hacks it, again, if it hasn't been done already.

Anything along those lines of messing with the embedded OS to tweak it out and add capability.

OHH... and also I wasn't exactly kidding about the door locks either. My Chevy diesel pickup locks the doors for you and there is an undocumented sequence of things you can do to get the thing to stop locking doors.

PLEASE someone let me know how to get that to stop before I go in and disable the electric locks completely and just use them manually.
