Exclamation Difference between 2010 and 2009 Jetta TDI's?

I am looking at purchasing a new Jetta TDI sedan. Right now my choice is a 2010 in a color I donít want or a 2009 in a color I do want. Right now I am leaning towards the 2009. I noticed the 2010 has different colored backlights for the instrument cluster and a different radio. Other than those two things are there any differences between the 2009 and 2010 Jetta TDIís? Are there any mechanical, performance, or reliability differences? I notice the EPA gives the 2009 a slightly lower fuel economy rating which implies some type of mechanical change from 2009 to 2010. Anyone know what that change was?

Engines are the same. There may be some slight gearing changes to increase mileage. Otherwise the differences are cosmetic. You should be able to get a better deal on the
'09.

From what I saw, the difference is that they went from a hydraulic to an electric power steering unit that takes a bit of effort off the engine and yields the slightly higher MPG numbers. Electric power steering is a bit of a different feel, so you may want to try both a 2010 and 2009 to see if you can tell a difference.
