Default iPod or MP3 player integration into 2006 Jetta TDI

I am getting sick of the FM transmitter option, so I was wondering what would be the best and cheapest way to add iPod (via mini jack is ok) integration into my stock 2006 Jetta TDI radio/stereo. I don't want to go the new deck route as I am not looking for sound or great looks, I just want to listen to my podcasts in the car.

Here is a photo of my stock player, it is the one cd kind, not the multi one...as basic as they come...

so the ipod hook up kit that ecs sells, does it let you just listen to ipod, or sat, or does to completely do away with the sat?
