Default Problems with the new Rabbit already...

So, I LOVE this car, this is my fourth week with it, but I'm having some problems that I'll be bringing to the attention of my dealer. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this on their Rabbits:

(1) There is a rubber trim lining around the four wheel wells. Three of the Four rubber linings are peeling away and hanging about 3-4 inches. Yikes! Should be an easy fix for them, just some new adhesive.

(2) This one is more serious. At first it was subtle, but now I'm noticing more and more. I feel grinding when I drive. It is like the brake pads are worn or something, BUT it happens all the time, not just when I brake. And it happens in frequency as the car moves, so it seems like something might be scraping my wheel or the rotor or something. Odd.

Anyone else have these problems, I'll post a pic of the rubber trim liner so you can see what I mean...

Here are the pics of the rubber molding that is peeling away:

The dealer is going to have this repaired on Friday, we'll see how well it looks...

Hopefully the dealership will have that sorted out and it'll look good as new. The other grinding problem sounds a little odd. I'd take it in and tell them to keep it until it was fixed.

Let us know how it turns out.

Wait? Is that molding NOT supposed to be there? Is it something they put on just during shipping?

Can someone else with a Black Rabbit confirm that they have a rubber molding around their wheel wells...???

It is something the dealer put on. Just take it off, it will look better.

Not on any of the Rabbits on our lot...

Its a dealer installed item. Most dealers don't put them on. When I bought my Corrado (used, 9 years old) it still had them on from when it was new. Those and the molding were the first things to be removed. Just use some heat and goo gone.

Ah, fair enough. It gives me a better piece of mind knowing that the dealer screwed it up with a poor adhesive job and not the VW factory.

Bringing the car in for the grinding sound on Friday, I'll just have them remove the trim.

Thanks guys, that was very helpful...

The detailers are supposed to take that trim off when it comes off the truck... it's just to protect the car during shipping... They were on the rabbits on our lot when they took them off the truck and were removed before they were floored. Nothing wrong with it, just dumb detail

There are 8 bulletins on the car. One them involves brakes so I'd take it back to the dealer.
