Angry Switch to Audi A4 wheels, but...

Bought a used set of A4 wheels (double spoke design) 235/45-17 Pirelli tires in good condition about 75% left. Noticed car seems to be slightly slugglish on acceleration and needs to work harder. I know the A4 wheels are heavier than the 15" steelies but could it make that much difference? Also the VWs typically go with 225/45-17 so would 10mm affect performance?
