i just bought a 2004 vw jetta gli 5 days ago and i have already had to drop over $200 trying to get it working right. it all started when i was on my way home from picking up the car and the check engine light came on. no big deal i went down to advance auto and ran a test on it. well it came up that the iat sensor (internal air sensor) was faulty but all it was is that it was loose. then everything started going downhill. it all ended with my tranny going out today. actuall i think its tranny but it might be the cv axle. does anyone know of other problems with this car or these same problems. my wife is at her limit. when we did research on the car nothing came up. i would really love the help. thanks.

Where did you buy the car from? If it was any car dealer they should stand behind what they sold within the first few weeks anyway.
Take the car to a really good mechanic and have them go over it from top to bottom.

i bought the car from a private individual and he said that he had no problem in the year that he owned but the guy only lived 5 min from where he worked and only put 6000 miles on it in all that time. which means that he didn't even get to put the car through its paces. the car is in the shop right now and they are thinking that it is not the tranny because the check engine light didn't come on....god i hope so.
