Default Wheel alignment question

I've had my GLI for about 5 days now. From the day I got it I was thinking it needed an alignment. I took it back and asked for an alignment. The dealer, a Mazda dealership, said it was fine.

I took it to my mechanic and he, free of charge, said it was slightly of but should be aligned since I just purchased the vehicle. He refused to do anything himself so that the dealership couldn't use his work against me.

However, the dealer when presented the information said that it is supposed to drift right so that "when you fall asleep you go off the road instead of oncoming traffic". Also said something else about VWs not being able to align perfectly.

My old Audi, even with a bad control arm, was dead straight.

So am I being given BS here or is that legit.

I've complained about the alignments to them so many times now but they claim they don't sell pre-owned vehicles without an alignment check. It is a slight drift but I'm picky and sensitive when it comes to car feel. I'll often pick up on things by feel before computer codes show.

I've never heard of this driving while sleeping safety thing. Some places like to account for road pitch but around here the roads tend to be multi-lane and flat.

However, the exhaust system was falling off and they claimed they'd never let it through their rigorous inspection like that.
