Default Hershey Autocross on October 23 (Sunday)

I cannot believe that I did not post this on the forum earlier! There is a huge autocross event at Hershey's Giant Stadium on Sunday, October 23 2005. Unfortunately, all of the available 140 or so slots are filled with pre-registerers like myself. However, I urge you all to check the site www.myautoevents.comto see if anyone has dropped out at the last minute, sign up, and come out! There will be NO non-comp runs afterward from what the organizers told us last time because we need to be off of the lot at 4:00 PM (that's really firm). So, if you just want to come out and watch, that will likely be what you end up doing (just want to warn you, in case you really don't want to just watch).

I emplore all of you to come out anyway. There are always no-shows (30% of all pre registerers at the last event didn't show up at all!), so they will probably and up taking regular registeration people at the event. Not to mention, it is a lot of fun to watch in person (it is a little confuzing when you watch videos because it alwasy ends up looking like a sea of cones). Plus, you get to chill with chill people like myself (I'm kidding. I'm not THAT arrogent).

So, the cost will be $25 paid at the event for preregistration, and $30 for those of you who find an empty slot and register at the event. Registration on Myautoevents.com is free and easy (only like two web-pages total. Basic informaiton about your car so you don't have to fill that out constantly. No credit card or anything).

Oh yeah! And if you go, look for me and say hi! I'll be in the silver BMW Z4. I'd be more than happy to talk to anyone up there (Most racers are). We hold wisdom and knowledge that we can pass onto you rookies and newbies (like, why fatter tires don't actually produce more initial grip than their skinnier (same compound and tred) counterparts).

Great! It was a miracle that we got such nice weather (except for the wind). It even warmed up toward the middle of the day. And the Z4 did better than I thought it would to. I just wasn't ready for it's increased power (it's much faster than my Z3). I had a great time.

How about that world challenge S4? I was working the starting line in the fourth heat and when he launched, I jumped back with suprise for his first run. Mike Louie got a video of it launching with me jumping in it lol.

Oh, and here's the only picture of the Z4 that the photographer got. It's a good'un to, I think.

It would be great if you could post that picture! I think I saw you guys when I was walking out to take a few pictures of my own. I went out that way.

Did you see the S4 when he tried to turn into the starting grid? I think his axles were welded together (I almost said glued), so he couldn't get the car to turn very well. The inside tire was skidding as he turned. It was nuckin' futs dude.

By the way, why didn't you guys join us out on the track? It was a really great track. Did you see the blazer run? That is proof that anyone can run ANY car.

sorry i checked last night for your pic. i remember snapping it but it must have turned out crappy cause i deleted it from my camera. i did some research on that S4. his family started and runs the carlisle events and car shows. here's a link to some info.

http://www.audibmw.com/news.php

i doubt they welded the diff.'s maybe a caliper was locked up or the limited slip is just really agressive.

that typhoon/cyclone (i always forget which was which) was badass. that dude could drive.

we didn't drive because.
1. we suck.
2. the jetta is way to low and has diff problems.
3. my golf has 18's and really shitty tires.

haha. Very good excuses for you not to drive. You should have anyway . You don't get good without trying (I just started this summer, and already I've had two second place finishes).

Yeah, I just heard someone say that the S4's axles were welded together (it sure looked like it!). Maybe that's what they meant: that they looked as if they were welded together, but I sure did hear a lot of funky sounds comming from that diff area when he was making the turn into the starting grid. Maybe it was a locking diff. I'll check out that site. audibmw.com... i forgot about that. Yeah, man. Those cars were sick. At the event that I'm going to this sunday, there should be a lot of neat cars. Almost the entire SS class is Lotus Elises. And a few 'Vettes. I'll be happily in B stock again with the Z3. I've been able to top a few of the 350Z times with that car (must have been driving error on their parts lol. They're fast!).

Thanks for looking into the pictures anyway.

Ok, yeah. So it's December 23 (oh, 24 now! 12:49 am). I hate winter. Stupid not-being-able-to-raceness. Ok, so I'll snowboard. Oh yeah. No trunk. No back seats. Drive up with sister? Am I suicidal? Hmm.... what to do. School is over for the semester... Oh yeah, I'll work at wal-mart again. Here's to the 10 hour work shift!

And this ends my ranting session.

Why are my polls still on top of this thread section? I haven't been here in a really long time.

Now I'm in school... That'll change.
