Default New Track Construction

I am interested in building a brand new track in or around York, Pennsylvania. My original plan, due to lower cost and land requirements than road courses, is to build a drag strip. I am new to your forum, hi, and I would like all the feedback that I can get from you guys and gals about what you want to see in a track. My plan calls for a quarter-mile track with ample run-off, a speed-shop and dyno on site for testing and tuning, and, of course, a nice big square lot built specifically for burnouts, doughnuts, and auto-x (dubbed the "fun lot"). Not only do I welcome your suggestions, but I need them so I can make this track into what you want.

I believe that this track would offer a safe-haven for those of us who like to roll on the circut, but aren't too fond of getting our licenses taken away. So, along with your suggestions, I really want to know if any of you would be interested in actually comming to the track. If you are, let me know how many times per year, month, or week you plan to attend. This could be a great place to hold GTGs and other fun events, so hit me with all the ideas you got!

Thanks, all, see you on the forums!

I would definitely come from time to time. We support Enduro Racing at Mahony Valley Speedway in Lehighton, PA. Any thoughts of an oval track?

Enduro. . . You mean the Endurokart gokarts? I guess I'm not too familiar with enduro.
The original plan, due to the lower cost of production would be a drag strip. But, if an overwhelming majority of people would rather a reconfigurable, oval/road course, I can see what kind of finances I can come up with and try it out. There aren't too many of those around here!

Unfortunately, this kind of structure would require between 50-150 acres for a small track, and 150-500 for a large one!! Not only do I have to find the appropriate amount of properly zoned land, but I need to find one that won't agitate the surrounding residents. York airport in Thomasville (Right on RT-30 next to Finish line auto) used to be a drag strip until someone bought it out and turned it into an airport (obviously ). My best guess would be somewhere close to the York CIrcut (for ease of access by the circut runners) but out of the residential area. Probably really darn close to the airport!

Hey, dan, ever heard of punctuation? Haha. I'll let you drive the BMW when we head up to Numidia raceway. I don't think that that area of york would be too out of reach. (We are about to drive 3 hours to hit up numidia!) What's an extra 5 minutes for a Yorker?
