Default Walk away WIN!!

Last night, Mike Garris Jr. drove the VWF Racing Jetta to a decisive victory at Mahoning Valley Speedway. This win helped undo the some of the misfortunes of previous weeks and move VWF up to 2nd place in the points standings.
It seems that much has transpired in the short time that I've been absent from MVS. Tire disputes and contact issues have caused tempers to flare among the drivers making for a more hostile envoirment on the tarmac. But all of this has done little to phase Mike as it was obvious to see that he's still on his game.
14 cars started in the 20 lap, caution free feature event. Mike was originally in the #2 position, but moved into the pole when the spot was vacated by a car that required a trip to the pits prior to the start. From the #1 spot, Mike was easily able to do what he does so well...get & stay out in front. At no time during the race did the VWF Jetta loose the #1 spot. Mike was leading by about 10 car lengths 15 laps into it when he faced his toughest obstacle...lapping traffic. In turn #4, an "error" by another driver caused a collision, sending the Jetta totally sideways at full speed. With other traffic bearing down on him, Mike managed to maintain control of the car & the lead of the race. It was certainly a scary moment to watch but the save says a lot about Mike Jr.'s skills.
So much has changed since the beginning of this season and its certain that we're destined for more changes before its all over. Even in my sporatic attendance, I've witnessed this racing team go through a variety of emotions and obstacles and they still manage to come out on top. Its a long season with endless possibilities but I have great confidence in this team, crew, car, & family. With some luck, they will prevail once again.

peace,

brenshlus
