Turn it off? Then what have no wheel drive NWD? Yeah you can't stock, not without a different diff and special setup.

so we're not talking actual driving we're just talking straight line ? fair enough. since we're in N/America i'll assume we're talking recent EVO's . does America get the same spec as europe? or do you guys get lower powered versions (i'm in canada right now and they don't get any of them )

if you'd have said from a rolling start you kick EVO's that'd be easy to understand as the turbo's they run can take forever to spool.

not saying i don't think its possible i'd just love to see the poor git in the EVO's face as a golf rolls past him.

I wanna see this too. Sense the stock EVo rolls all over STi's. And STi's are pushing 300+. I know for sure that its possible. I seen it happen, but not to often. Gotta have some serious work done to the GTi to do this. I just love seeing GTi's handle machines that cost more, and come with alot more HP in stock form. And as far as the douch thinking that he can turn off the AWD. Tell him to put it in nuetral, then it will be out of AWD. As far as making it when ever you want while driving. That would consist of serious work done to change the diff, gearing, and the complete drivetrain. Which would def. not be worth it, unless its some sort of track car. Tell him to try reading up on his car, before he goes around bragging about things he has no clue on, and makin hisself sound like a douche bag.

as far as i know, i think you can turn the awd system to be 10%-90% in the evo. not completely sure, but i know you can do that in stis with aftermarket parts.

as far as a BT 1.8T against a stock evo. wow, a heavily modified car vs. a stock one. some match-up. just wait until that evo is wearing a big turbo...

and thats stock trim.

AMS's evo runs a 9.48 @ 156.6mph and has a GT42. that car is heavily modified. tyler, i wonder how your friend with his 2871r would do against that car considering its heavily modified aswell...

no worries , personally i love the EVO 5's the most , it got the hardcore styling before mistsu decided to start aiming the EVO at a wider market and started taming it down visually, i know the others are more powerfull etc but they don't look as much like a rally refugee as the 5
