Default Volkswagen is to Audi as _________is to BMW

I traded on my 04 golf 2.0 and got a mini cooper S. It was tough decision, the golf had 42,000 miles and has 2yrs/30K miles on the extended certified warranty. But it was just no fun to drive, especially higway driving. I changed the lights&wheels and had purchased coilovers&spacers but that wouldnt change the fact that is slow. Even though it looked nice, bottom line its SLOW.

So the past 3 weeks I've been car searching. First was a 04 R32 with 50K miles with no warranty and they still wanted $23K. Next was an 2001 Audi TT 225 Convertible, but the wife quickly shot down that idea because it was a 2-seater. Then I started to look at the mini. This was one of the first ones that caught my eye. I wanted either black, blue or gray. I contacted an old friend from a used dealership in York (I wont disclose their name) they has an 03 with 43K miles and stil wanted $19,900 "oh, it has the $3000 navigation option" funny, miniusa.com says its a $2000 option. I printed out three that I thought would be in my price range and asked if they could get them for me. "No problem" The one I just purchased was one of them. Two days later, I get a call and they tell me that the blue one and another were sold and other they wouldn't deal with the other dealership.
So Wednesday I fowarded 4 more that I found. I called the next day to see if they got them. "Yes, I'm showing to my boss now and I'm starting to make some calls." Thursday nothing......Friday nothing....

I kept seeing the one that I was told was sold. So I called the place where it was.
Me: "Yes, do you still have the blue mini??"
Dealer: "Yes we do!!!"
Me: "OK, I'll be down tomorrow."

So I drove down to Maryland and picked it up Yesterday. Its an 2005 with 31,000 miles. Alot of the factory options that I was looking for, Sports package, Leather interior, Chrome interior trim, dual panel sunroof

Here it is
I will call him mini-me

Pulley, ditch the runflats, lighter wheels... it will totally come to life. We've been tinkering with one lately.

Mini's are sweet. I threw around the idea of getting one when I got my GTI, but it was too small for my only car. Nice trade.

Nice pick! I was never crazy about their interiors, but I'm sure it's a nice car to cruise around in.
